It\u2019s about how <em>you<\/em> show up in front of clients. Your personality, your strategy, and your way of building trust define your results far more than your listings ever will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is where the \u201cHunter-Farmer\u201d model comes in\u2014a classic framework used in sales to describe different types of salespeople.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> But today, we\u2019re going a step further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s explore the three personas of real estate agents: <strong>Hunter, Farmer and Gatherer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. The Hunter Agent<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hunter is hungry. Always chasing the next lead. Cold calling, posting every day, running around Nairobi or Mombasa showing plots or apartments, and always pitching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They live by one rule: \u201cIt\u2019s a numbers game.\u201d More calls, more clients, more viewings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd3a <strong>Trap to avoid:<\/strong> Burnout. When deals are slow, the Hunter can become desperate, pushing too hard or chasing bad leads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Real-life example:<\/strong> You might recognize the Hunter in that agent who posts 20 listings a week, calls every number they get, and rarely follows up\u2014because they\u2019re already on to the next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. The Farmer Agent<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Farmer focuses on nurturing existing relationships. They maintain their \u201cfarm\u201d\u2014whether that\u2019s a neighborhood, apartment complex, or network of past clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They thrive on referrals, repeat business, and slow but steady growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd3a <strong>Trap to avoid:<\/strong> Over-dependence on one market or one set of clients. If your \u201cfarm\u201d dries up (maybe due to economic shifts), you may be left with no pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Real-life example:<\/strong> You know the agent who manages a few buildings and gets steady commissions from tenant renewals or repeat landlords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. The Gatherer Agent<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gatherer is a connector. They don\u2019t just wait for opportunities\u2014they go looking for them in smart ways. They attend events, network with developers, and are always gathering market intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They build strong relationships and are seen as \u201cthe person who knows things.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udd3a <strong>Trap to avoid:<\/strong> Staying too comfortable in your circle. You must still close deals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Real-life example:<\/strong> The Gatherer is that agent who knows five landlords in every area and can connect you with a plot in Kisumu <em>and<\/em> an Airbnb in Diani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have you seen yourself in any of the above? Grow. Sell. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sales intelligence<\/strong> \u2013 understanding what buyers and sellers need, and spotting opportunity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Social influence<\/strong> \u2013 using personal branding, content, and trust-building to attract clients instead of chasing them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Here is why I think if  you join me, you will win. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Real estate clients today are overwhelmed. With listings everywhere, Facebook ads popping up constantly, and agents promising the moon, trust is at an all-time low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, who do clients want to deal with?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2705 Someone who <strong>educates<\/strong>, not pressures<br>\u2705 Someone who <strong>listens<\/strong>, not just sells<br>\u2705 Someone who <strong>guides<\/strong>, not chases<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Guide is the <em>trusted advisor<\/em>\u2014not just an agent. Build your social influence.<\/strong><br>Start posting helpful content. Teach people what they don\u2019t know. Share your story. Answer questions. Show that you understand the market and the people in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>If you&#8217;re in a room full of agents sharing the same listings, you won&#8217;t stand out\u2014unless you&#8217;re the one sharing <em>value<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Use sales intelligence tools.<\/strong><br>Keep learning. Use property data, market reports, even feedback from past clients to sharpen your insight.
